NYFW Hair & Makeup

Ok so perhaps I am biased, I just got my hair cut at the fabulous Electric hair salon in town, I now have a middle parting and a cute diagonal cut towards the front. Bang on trend it would seem! not only that the Stylist Charles gave me some great tips on how to re-create the look myself. For that curly texture use straightening irons to curl the hair, wrap round my finger to cool before adding a little product and shaking through the curls to add volume. This is a great look for those of you like me who want a quick easily achievable hair style, it looks great on the catwalk and can be worn as an everyday look too. Thanks guys!

I am loving the middle parting look and it seems to be all over the shows this season. Rebecca Taylor's show features that great textured look a little 90's grunge with a 2013 update.

Smokey neutral tones swept across the eye and a smudgy line underneath pull the look together with a flash of red on the nails.

Alexander Wang’s show was a wash with sleek style again this year,
a personal favorite is that great ombre look! (it's sticking around for another season) A Low pony pulling your attention to that warm red tone running through the length of the hair. Fab to wear now!

Backstage at Jeremy Scott that Smokey eye has been transformed with a hint of plumb, a gentle flick traces the line of the eye across the lid. This one I am definitely trying at home! A full eyebrow, nude lip and 60’s inspired hairdo finish off the look.

Finally Jenny Packham brings us the ‘Volume’! Curls galore brings a contrast to all the sleek looks we are seeing. Inspired by “Picnic at Hanging Rock’ , a seventies cult film, the show features models with full feminine looks, swept across and clipped into position neatly.
